Supporting communities with progressive environmental missions, Sustainable Business Solutions, Inc. is pleased to present the 2004 Aspen Green Building Conference on October 6-8 in Snowmass Village.

The city of Aspen, Pitkin County and surrounding communities have proven themselves as environmental leaders through innovative green building and energy efficient initiatives, including the Aspen Efficient Building Program (AEBP) and the Renewable Energy Mitigation Program (REMP).

The AEB program encourages the purchase of recycled and recyclable materials, energy efficiency and mandates recycling.
REMP strives to encourage energy efficiency through a pay-for-excess policy, charging homeowners for homes in excess of 5,000 sq. ft. or if they exceed the "energy budget" allotted to their property by the local building code.
The city of Aspen receives 57% of its electricity from renewable sources, such as wind or hydroelectric.
Aspen also offers its residence free parking for hybrid gas-electric automobiles and a free city-wide public transit system.
